Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end transportation operations including fleet management, route optimization, and carrier relationships
- Develop and implement strategic logistics plans to achieve 99.5% on-time delivery rates
- Lead cross-functional teams in implementing TMS/WMS systems and automation solutions
- Analyze KPIs to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
- Manage multimodal transportation (rail, truck, air) for high-volume freight clients
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and international shipping regulations
- Develop annual logistics budgets with 10-15% year-over-year cost reduction targets
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration (MBA preferred)
- 10+ years progressive experience in transportation/logistics management
- Proven expertise in TMS/WMS implementation and data-driven decision making
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and multi-modal transportation networks
- Advanced proficiency in logistics analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, SAP)
- Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) or equivalent designation
- Experience leading cross-functional teams of 15+ professionals
- Demonstrated success in reducing transportation costs by 15%+
