Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations including warehousing, transportation, and distribution networks
- Develop and implement strategic logistics plans optimizing cost, efficiency, and sustainability metrics
- Lead cross-functional teams in executing transportation solutions for Fortune 500 clients
- Analyze performance data to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with carriers and third-party logistics providers
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations (FMCSA, DOT, IATA)
- Drive digital transformation initiatives in logistics technology and automation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration (MBA preferred)
- 10+ years progressive experience in transportation/logistics management with 5+ in leadership
- Proven expertise in multi-modal transportation (rail, air, ocean, trucking)
- Advanced proficiency in logistics software (TMS, WMS, ERP systems)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in KPI development and performance metrics
- Certifications in logistics (CSCP, CLTD, or CPIM) highly desirable
- Exceptional project management abilities with track record of complex implementation success
- Deep understanding of Chicago's transportation infrastructure and Midwestern distribution networks
