Responsibilities
- Design and implement efficient multi-modal transportation networks spanning rail, road, and intermodal systems
- Manage carrier relationships and negotiate contracts to maximize service levels and minimize spend
- Monitor real-time shipment visibility using TMS platforms and proactively address disruptions
- Ensure strict adherence to FMCSA regulations and industry safety standards
- Analyze logistics KPIs to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
- Lead cross-functional projects integrating warehouse operations with transportation systems
- Develop contingency plans for weather-related disruptions and high-volume peak seasons
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Transportation Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in freight transportation with emphasis on LTL/FTL operations
- Expert proficiency in TMS platforms (Manhattan, Blue Yonder, or comparable systems)
- Certification in Transportation Management (CTL or CSCP) preferred
- Deep knowledge of Midwest transportation corridors and regulatory environments
- Advanced analytical skills with experience in route optimization algorithms
- Strong negotiation skills with documented cost reduction achievements
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations during critical shipping events
