Job Description

Elevate Your Career with New York’s Premier Design Firm

Vanguard Design Collective is seeking a visionary Senior Interior Architect to join our award-winning Manhattan studio. We specialize in creating immersive, high-end residential and luxury commercial environments that push the boundaries of modern aesthetics and functional elegance.

As a key leader in our design department, you will bridge the gap between architectural integrity and bespoke interior curation. You will lead a multidisciplinary team through all project phases—from conceptual storytelling and schematic design to complex technical documentation and on-site construction administration. We offer a culture that values innovation, sustainable practices, and the relentless pursuit of design excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the conceptual development and technical execution of multi-million dollar residential and commercial projects.
  • Direct the production of comprehensive construction documents, including detailed millwork, RCPs, and bespoke furniture specifications.
  • Collaborate with structural engineers, lighting consultants, and MEP specialists to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate designers, fostering a culture of technical growth and creative exploration.
  • Oversee construction administration, including site visits, RFI responses, and submittal reviews to ensure design intent is maintained.
  • Manage client relationships and project budgets, ensuring all deliverables meet our rigorous quality standards and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution.
  • 8-12 years of professional experience, specifically within high-end luxury sectors.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Rhino; experience with Enscape or V-Ray is highly preferred.
  • NCIDQ or AIA certification is required; LEED AP or WELL AP accreditation is a significant plus.
  • Exceptional portfolio demonstrating a sophisticated design vocabulary and attention to tectonic detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex design concepts to discerning high-net-worth clients.
