Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications to evaluate risk exposure and determine appropriate coverage terms
- Develop and maintain profitable underwriting strategies for diverse industry portfolios
- Collaborate with brokers and agents to negotiate policy terms and conditions
- Monitor emerging risks and regulatory changes to ensure portfolio compliance
- Mentor junior underwriters and lead cross-functional risk assessment projects
- Implement data-driven underwriting models to optimize pricing and loss ratios
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with proven risk assessment expertise
- Professional designations (CPCU, ARM, or AU) strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
