Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications using advanced risk assessment models and actuarial data
- Develop and maintain profitable underwriting strategies for specialty lines including D&O, E&O, and Cyber Liability
- Lead negotiations with brokers and clients to structure optimal coverage solutions
- Maintain compliance with state/federal regulations and industry best practices
- Mentor junior underwriters while implementing process improvements for portfolio efficiency
- Collaborate with claims and actuarial teams to refine risk selection criteria
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field with 5+ years commercial underwriting experience
- ACII, CPCU, or ARM designation strongly preferred
- Expertise in property/casualty insurance with proven track record in complex risk evaluation
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret financial statements and loss runs
- Exceptional negotiation and presentation abilities with broker relationships
- Experience leading portfolios exceeding $50M in premium volume
