Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex insurance applications using advanced analytics and risk assessment frameworks
- Design and implement tailored coverage solutions for commercial and high-net-worth clients
- Collaborate with actuaries to refine pricing models and ensure portfolio profitability
- Mentor junior underwriters while establishing best practices for underwriting excellence
- Analyze market trends to identify emerging risks and opportunities
- Lead negotiations with brokers and partners to optimize placement terms
- Develop compliance protocols aligning with NY state regulations and industry standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive underwriting experience with commercial lines
- Proven expertise in risk modeling, actuarial principles, and regulatory compliance
- Advanced proficiency in insurance software (Guidewire, Duck Creek) and data analytics tools
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation preferred
- Exceptional negotiation skills and stakeholder management abilities
- Strong track record of portfolio profitability improvement and innovation
- Valid New York State Insurance License (required)
