Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications to assess risk exposure and determine appropriate coverage terms
- Develop tailored insurance solutions for high-value accounts in specialty markets
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to negotiate policy terms and conditions
- Monitor claims trends and adjust underwriting strategies to maintain portfolio profitability
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to continuous improvement of underwriting guidelines
- Stay current with regulatory changes and emerging risk factors in the insurance landscape
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of commercial insurance underwriting experience with proven track record
- Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate complex risk scenarios
- Industry certifications (CPCU, ARM, or similar) preferred
- Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency in underwriting software and data analysis tools
