Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial insurance applications through rigorous financial analysis and risk assessment
- Develop customized insurance solutions for high-net-worth clients and corporate entities
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to negotiate policy terms and conditions
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure portfolio compliance and competitiveness
- Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation according to regulatory standards
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Present underwriting recommendations to senior management and underwriting committees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting with proven track record
- Professional certifications such as CPCU, AU, or ARM highly desirable
- Expertise in risk analysis tools and insurance rating platforms
- Deep understanding of insurance regulations (NY DFS, NAIC standards)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial statements
