Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial and personal insurance applications to assess risk exposure and determine policy terms
- Develop and price innovative insurance products aligned with market trends and client needs
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers, agents, and corporate clients
- Lead underwriting committees to make informed decisions on high-value risks
- Monitor claims data to refine underwriting strategies and loss prevention protocols
- Ensure compliance with NY state insurance regulations and industry best practices
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to departmental process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with property/casualty focus
- Professional designation (CPCU, ARM, or AU) preferred
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software and data analytics tools
- Strong understanding of insurance regulations and market dynamics
