- Evaluate complex commercial insurance applications and assess risk exposure
- Design and structure innovative insurance solutions for Fortune 500 clients
- Lead underwriting committees and mentor junior underwriters
- Analyze market trends and regulatory impacts on product portfolios
- Collaborate with actuaries and claims specialists to optimize risk selection
- Develop underwriting guidelines and pricing strategies for new markets
Qualifications
- 7+ years of commercial underwriting experience with property/casualty focus
- Professional designation (CPCU, ARM, or AU) required
- Expertise in risk modeling and data-driven decision making
- Strong knowledge of NY insurance regulations and NAIC standards
- Proven track record in managing high-value portfolios ($50M+ premium)
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
