Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications and risk profiles
- Develop and price innovative insurance products for high-value clients
- Lead negotiation processes with brokers and corporate clients
- Implement risk mitigation strategies for specialty portfolios
- Maintain compliance with NY State Insurance Department regulations
- Mentor junior underwriters and conduct peer reviews
- Leverage data analytics to optimize underwriting profitability
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with P&L responsibility
- CPCU or AU designation preferred
- Expertise in property/casualty and specialty lines
- Advanced proficiency in insurance rating platforms (e.g., Duck Creek)
- Strong analytical skills with data interpretation experience
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities
- Knowledge of NY insurance regulations and market trends
