Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial risks and property/casualty applications using advanced actuarial modeling
- Develop and maintain profitable underwriting strategies aligned with regulatory requirements
- Lead negotiations with brokers and clients to structure optimal insurance coverage
- Maintain compliance with state/federal insurance regulations and company protocols
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with claims and actuarial teams to refine risk assessment frameworks
- Utilize proprietary analytics platforms to identify emerging market trends
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with P&C specialization
- ARM, AU, or CPCU designation preferred
- Expertise in risk assessment methodologies and insurance regulations
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making capabilities
- Excellent negotiation and client relationship management abilities
- Proven track record of balancing risk and profitability
