Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications and risk profiles to determine coverage eligibility and premium structures
- Develop customized insurance solutions for mid-market businesses across diverse industries
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to assess risk exposures and design comprehensive policies
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and industry best practices
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Represent the company at industry events and client meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial insurance underwriting experience
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in risk assessment methodologies
- Valid Property & Casualty insurance license (required)
- Experience with underwriting software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- CPCU or ARM designation preferred
