Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial insurance applications using quantitative analysis, market research, and risk modeling
- Design customized coverage solutions for mid-market enterprises and multinational corporations
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to clarify requirements and negotiate policy terms
- Develop and maintain pricing strategies that balance risk exposure with profitability targets
- Monitor regulatory compliance and emerging industry trends across US insurance markets
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process optimization initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field (CPCU/ARM/CIA certifications preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive underwriting experience with commercial insurance products
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (Guidewire, Duck Creek) and data analytics
- Demonstrated success in pricing complex risks and managing loss ratios
- Strong negotiation skills with ability to articulate technical concepts to non-experts
- Deep understanding of insurance regulations (NAIC, NYDFS) and market dynamics
