Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for commercial property/casualty policies
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies for high-value accounts
- Analyze financial statements and loss history to determine policy terms
- Collaborate with actuaries and claims teams to refine risk models
- Maintain compliance with state/federal insurance regulations
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience
- CPCU or ARM designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (e.g., Duck Creek)
- Deep knowledge of insurance regulations (NAIC, state-specific)
- Exceptional analytical and negotiation skills
- Proven track record of portfolio profitability management
