Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial insurance applications using advanced risk assessment methodologies
- Develop strategic pricing models and policy structures for high-value accounts
- Lead cross-functional teams to optimize underwriting processes and loss ratios
- Build relationships with brokers and clients to drive sustainable portfolio growth
- Implement emerging technologies like AI-driven risk prediction tools
- Mentor junior underwriters while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards
- Identify market opportunities and contribute to product innovation initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with property/casualty expertise
- Professional designations (CPCU, ARM, or CIC) strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in insurance rating platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Demonstrated success in managing complex portfolios $10M+
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making capabilities
- Excellent communication skills with ability to negotiate complex terms
- Knowledge of Illinois insurance regulations and compliance requirements
