Responsibilities
- Analyze commercial insurance applications with advanced risk modeling tools
- Develop tailored policy structures for high-value clients in manufacturing and logistics sectors
- Collaborate with actuarial teams to refine underwriting algorithms
- Lead complex negotiations with brokers and ensure compliance with state regulations
- Maintain loss ratio targets while expanding profitable portfolio segments
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to departmental process improvements
- Prepare comprehensive risk assessment reports for executive review
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with specialization in property/casualty
- CPCU or AU designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency in risk assessment software (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Deep knowledge of Illinois insurance regulations and NAIC standards
- Exceptional analytical skills with data-driven decision-making experience
- Proven track record of achieving underwriting profitability targets
- Strong communication skills for high-stakes negotiations
