Responsibilities
- Analyze and assess complex commercial insurance applications using advanced risk modeling techniques
- Design and price tailored insurance solutions for high-value clients across multiple industries
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers, agents, and key industry stakeholders
- Lead underwriting committees and make strategic decisions on risk acceptance and policy terms
- Develop and implement underwriting guidelines to ensure portfolio profitability and compliance
- Monitor emerging risks and market trends to inform product development and pricing strategies
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to continuous improvement of underwriting processes
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial underwriting experience with proven track record in property/casualty
- Relevant professional certification (CII, ACII, or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of insurance regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and actuarial principles
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial statements and risk data
- Strong negotiation abilities and experience managing broker relationships
- Proficiency in underwriting software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire) and data analytics tools
- Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
