Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications to assess risk exposure and determine appropriate coverage terms
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies aligned with company risk appetite and market trends
- Build and maintain relationships with insurance brokers and key stakeholders
- Review and price policies for mid-to-large commercial accounts across diverse industries
- Stay current with regulatory changes and emerging risks in the insurance sector
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field required
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with proven track record
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret financial statements and risk metrics
- ACII, CPCU, or ARM designation preferred
- Expertise in property/casualty insurance products and pricing models
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in underwriting software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
