Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications and evaluate risk exposure using advanced actuarial models
- Develop tailored insurance solutions for mid-market enterprises in manufacturing, tech, and healthcare sectors
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to negotiate optimal policy terms and premium structures
- Maintain accurate risk portfolios and compliance documentation adhering to state/federal regulations
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to continuous improvement of underwriting workflows
- Identify emerging market trends and recommend strategic adjustments to product offerings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with proven P&L responsibility
- Professional designation (CPCU, ARM, or AU) strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in insurance software (Guidewire, Duck Creek) and data analytics tools
- Deep understanding of insurance regulations across multiple jurisdictions
- Exceptional negotiation skills with ability to articulate complex risk concepts
- Strong track record in managing high-value commercial portfolios ($1M+ premiums)
