Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial and personal insurance applications using advanced risk assessment methodologies
- Design tailored insurance coverage solutions that balance risk exposure with client needs
- Collaborate with actuaries to develop pricing models and policy structures
- Lead underwriting committees to evaluate high-value or non-standard risk scenarios
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and industry best practices
- Mentor junior underwriters through knowledge-sharing sessions and case reviews
- Identify emerging risk trends and recommend product enhancements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with specialization in property/casualty
- CPCU, ARM, or CII designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency in insurance rating platforms and data visualization tools
- Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance (NAIC, state-specific)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial documents
- Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder collaboration
- Proven track record of improving loss ratios and portfolio performance
