Responsibilities
- Lead complex commercial underwriting processes for mid-to-large enterprises
- Develop risk assessment models using advanced analytics and predictive tools
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to design tailored insurance solutions
- Maintain compliance with state/federal insurance regulations and industry standards
- Mentor junior underwriters and conduct portfolio performance reviews
- Identify emerging risks and recommend policy adjustments
- Present underwriting recommendations to senior leadership committees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial insurance underwriting experience
- CPCU, ARM, or CERA designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making abilities
- Excellent negotiation and client relationship management expertise
- Knowledge of Illinois insurance regulations and market trends
- Proven track record in managing profitable underwriting portfolios
