Responsibilities
- Underwrite complex commercial and specialty insurance policies with precision
- Analyze risk exposure using actuarial models and predictive analytics
- Develop pricing strategies that balance profitability and market competitiveness
- Maintain relationships with key brokers and major corporate clients
- Lead underwriting committees for high-value accounts
- Ensure compliance with NY state insurance regulations and NAIC guidelines
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to departmental training programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field
- 7+ years of commercial underwriting experience with P&C specialization
- CPCU or AU designation required (working towards acceptable)
- Expertise in commercial lines and E&O underwriting
- Advanced proficiency in Guidewire and Duck Creek platforms
- Demonstrated ability to manage $50M+ portfolios
- Strong knowledge of NY insurance regulatory landscape
- Exceptional analytical and negotiation skills
