Responsibilities
- Develop advanced predictive models for property/casualty risk assessment using Python, R, and SAS
- Analyze complex datasets to quantify climate change impacts on insurance portfolios
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to design risk mitigation strategies for commercial clients
- Present risk exposure reports to C-suite executives and regulatory bodies
- Mentor junior analysts and lead cross-functional risk management projects
- Stay updated on emerging insurance regulations (e.g., NAIC guidelines) and ensure compliance
- Drive innovation in catastrophe modeling for Midwest-based insurance portfolios
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Data Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in insurance risk analysis or underwriting
- Professional certifications (e.g., ARM, CERA, or ASA) or willingness to pursue within 12 months
- Expertise in statistical modeling software (SAS, Python, R) and SQL
- Proven track record of developing risk frameworks for commercial insurance products
- Strong presentation skills with experience communicating complex risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders
