Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced risk models for commercial property/casualty portfolios
- Analyze large datasets using SQL, Python, and R to identify emerging risk patterns
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to refine pricing strategies and policy terms
- Present risk assessments to C-suite executives with clear visualizations
- Lead cross-functional projects integrating IoT and AI into risk prediction
- Maintain compliance with state/federal insurance regulations (NAIC guidelines)
- Mentor junior analysts on quantitative risk methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Finance (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years in commercial insurance risk analysis or underwriting
- Professional certification (ARM, CPCU, or ASA)
- Advanced proficiency in Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn) and SQL
- Demonstrated experience with catastrophe modeling software (AIR, RMS)
- Deep understanding of insurance accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)
- Exceptional communication skills translating technical concepts to stakeholders
- Portfolio management experience with $50M+ exposure
