Responsibilities
- Analyze complex insurance portfolios using advanced statistical modeling to quantify risk exposure and recommend pricing strategies
- Develop and implement underwriting guidelines for commercial property/casualty lines
- Conduct thorough loss trend analysis and reserve adequacy assessments
- Partner with actuaries to design predictive risk scoring algorithms
- Ensure compliance with NAIC regulations and state-specific insurance requirements
- Mentor junior analysts and present risk insights to executive stakeholders
- Lead cross-functional projects to optimize claims processing workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting or risk analysis
- Professional designation (CERA, ARM, CPCU) or progress toward certification
- Expertise in SQL, Python, and R for data manipulation and modeling
- Deep understanding of insurance regulations and rating methodologies
- Strong communication skills with ability to translate complex data for non-technical audiences
- Proven track record of developing risk assessment frameworks
