Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Manage the daily operations of the fleet, ensuring timely deliveries and efficient route planning.
- Cost Control: Implement strategies to reduce fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and overall operational expenses.
- Driver Management: Recruit, train, and mentor drivers, fostering a positive and safety-conscious work environment.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, and internal safety policies.
- Maintenance Oversight: Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and manage vendor relationships for vehicle repairs.
- Performance Analytics: Analyze operational data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance KPIs.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between operations, management, and external clients regarding fleet status and delivery schedules.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in fleet operations, logistics management, or a related transportation role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and fleet maintenance software.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA compliance requirements.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills with a focus on resolving complex logistical challenges.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
