Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance schedules of a diverse fleet (trucks, vans, and heavy equipment).
- Analyze fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and vehicle performance data to identify trends and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Ensure strict adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and local transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Manage vendor relationships for parts, repairs, and tire services to secure the best contracts.
- Coordinate with the dispatch team to optimize delivery routes and resolve logistical bottlenecks.
- Conduct regular safety audits and driver performance reviews.
- Prepare and manage the fleet budget, forecasting expenses and capital expenditures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations.
- Valid Driver’s License (Commercial Driver’s License [CDL] preferred but not required).
- Proven experience with fleet management software (e.g., Geotab, Samsara, or Fleetio).
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance cycles, preventative scheduling, and DOT compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
