Job Summary
As the Senior Fleet Manager, you will be the strategic leader of our ground transportation division. You will manage the complete lifecycle of our fleet assetsâfrom procurement and maintenance to disposalâwhile driving initiatives to reduce operational costs and maximize uptime. You will also mentor a team of logistics coordinators and dispatchers to ensure seamless service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily fleet operations, including dispatching, maintenance scheduling, and driver performance monitoring.
- Manage the annual fleet budget, tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and identifying significant cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure strict adherence to DOT regulations, FMCSA standards, and company safety protocols.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with maintenance vendors, insurance providers, and regulatory bodies.
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of logistics coordinators to improve productivity and morale.
- Analyze telematics data to optimize routes, reduce fuel consumption, and improve driver safety scores.
- Conduct regular fleet audits to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations.
- Strong working knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA compliance, and safety management systems.
- Proven experience in budget management, financial reporting, and cost reduction strategies.
- Proficiency in fleet management software (e.g., Samsara, Geotab, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid Driverâs License and a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
