We are a leading transportation and supply chain solutions provider headquartered in the heart of Chicago. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Fleet Logistics Manager to oversee our daily fleet operations and drive efficiency across our regional network.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the strategic management of our logistics operations, ensuring safety compliance, optimizing route planning, and maximizing asset utilization. Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of a regional fleet, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Ensure strict compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Manage a team of logistics coordinators and drivers, conducting performance reviews and providing coaching.
- Develop and maintain relationships with third-party carriers and brokers.
- Implement and monitor fleet maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to optimize load planning and dispatching.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA standards, and logistics software (TMS experience is highly preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
- Proven track record of managing a team of 10+ employees.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus but not required for the management role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
