Join our dynamic finance team as a Senior Financial Accountant at Apex Global Partners, a leading financial services firm in Chicago. We're seeking a meticulous professional to drive financial accuracy and strategic insights for our growing portfolio of clients. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work remotely 2 days/week while collaborating in our downtown Chicago office. You'll be instrumental in ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and optimizing financial operations for high-profile clients.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with rigorous reconciliation procedures
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to ensure financial integrity and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with audit teams to facilitate smooth external examinations and resolve discrepancies
- Implement process improvements using ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) to enhance financial reporting efficiency
- Provide strategic financial insights to executive leadership and client stakeholders
- Mentor junior accounting staff through technical training and best practices guidance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive experience in public accounting or corporate finance
- Advanced proficiency in GAAP standards and financial reporting regulations
- Expertise in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills with experience in variance analysis and financial modeling
- Proven ability to manage complex reconciliations and audit procedures
- Excellent communication skills for presenting financial data to non-financial stakeholders
