Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements in strict accordance with UK GAAP.
- Manage the preparation of VAT returns and liaison with HMRC to ensure full compliance.
- Collaborate with the FP&A team to assist in the annual budgeting process and variance analysis.
- Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on accounting policies and procedures.
- Oversee the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and ensure internal controls are robust.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during annual audits.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience in financial accounting within the UK.
- Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and HMRC regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Sage, Xero, or NetSuite).
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
