Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive EHS policies and procedures aligned with ISO 45001 and OSHA standards.
- Risk Management: Conduct rigorous risk assessments and lead incident investigations to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations, including waste management and emissions.
- Training & Culture: Design and deliver engaging safety training programs to cultivate a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organization.
- Auditing: Lead internal audits and manage external certification processes to maintain our industry-leading safety reputation.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports for executive stakeholders and regulatory bodies, providing actionable insights on EHS performance.
- Emergency Response: Oversee emergency response planning and coordinate drills to ensure readiness for potential hazards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in EHS management within a corporate or industrial setting.
- Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EHS management software, incident reporting systems, and data analysis tools.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of solving complex safety challenges.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
