Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS management systems and programs in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance, recommending corrective actions and tracking their completion.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and develop preventative measures to eliminate recurrence.
- Provide expert EHS guidance and training to employees and management on safety protocols, environmental best practices, and emergency response procedures.
- Manage environmental permitting, reporting, and compliance activities, including air, water, and waste management programs.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on new projects to integrate EHS considerations from the design phase.
- Stay current with EHS regulations, industry trends, and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present EHS performance reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in EHS roles, preferably within an industrial, manufacturing, or energy sector environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant environmental and safety regulations.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing EHS management systems and training programs.
- Proven ability to conduct effective incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of an organization.
- Proficiency in EHS software and data analysis tools.
