Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies and procedures in alignment with corporate goals.
- Conduct regular site audits, risk assessments, and safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Design and deliver engaging safety training programs for employees at all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS principles into daily operations and project planning.
- Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, preparing detailed reports for executive leadership.
- Manage environmental permits and oversee waste management and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in an EHS leadership role within manufacturing, energy, or heavy industry.
- Deep technical knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) are highly preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and executing safety training programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough root cause analyses.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage staff at all levels.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
