Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and environmental audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Manage hazardous waste disposal programs and ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to integrate EHS principles into daily workflows and project planning.
  • Prepare and submit required environmental and safety reports to regulatory bodies and corporate leadership.
  • Stay current on emerging regulations, industry trends, and best practices in EHS management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, petrochemical, or heavy industry.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) are highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, as well as HAZWOPER certification.
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering effective safety training programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence all levels of the organization.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
