Responsibilities
- Develop & Implement Policies: Create, update, and oversee EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, Cal-OSHA, EPA).
- Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Incident Investigation: Lead the investigation of accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Training & Education: Design and deliver engaging safety training sessions for employees at all levels, ensuring a deep understanding of safety protocols.
- Compliance Reporting: Manage reporting requirements, including regulatory filings, internal audits, and KPI reporting to executive leadership.
- Culture Building: Promote a proactive safety culture through regular communication, safety committees, and recognition programs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certifications: Professional Certification (e.g., CSP, CPEH, CIH, OHST) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in Environmental Health & Safety, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and California-specific environmental laws.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex safety data into actionable insights.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving cultural change.
