Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive EHS management systems in alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Lead root-cause analyses for all incidents and near-misses, formulating and executing sustainable corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure 100% compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, serving as the primary liaison to OSHA, EPA, and TCEQ.
- Design, modernize, and facilitate high-impact safety training programs tailored to both operational frontlines and executive leadership.
- Conduct routine multi-point facility audits, risk assessments, and industrial hygiene monitoring to proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Oversee environmental reporting pipelines, including Title V air emissions, hazardous waste management, and wastewater discharge permits.
- Foster a proactive, employee-led safety culture by establishing cross-functional safety committees and behavioral safety programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- 6 to 8+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in heavy manufacturing, chemical processing, or industrial sectors.
- Active professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is highly preferred.
- Deep operational mastery of OSHA 1910 standards, EPA regulations, and state-level environmental permitting processes.
- Demonstrated success in reducing Total Recordable Incident Rates (TRIR) and implementing modern behavioral-based safety (BBS) programs.
- Exceptional interpersonal and influence management skills, with a proven ability to drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
