Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and audit comprehensive EHS management systems to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and provide actionable mitigation strategies.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations for any workplace incidents, ensuring timely reporting and effective corrective actions.
- Design and facilitate advanced safety training programs for diverse teams, fostering a 'Safety First' organizational culture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to integrate environmental sustainability goals into core operational processes.
- Manage relationships with regulatory agencies and oversee the submission of all mandatory environmental permits and reports.
- Monitor emerging environmental and safety legislation to proactively update internal policies and stay ahead of industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in EHS leadership roles, preferably within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) certification is highly desirable.
- Deep working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, RCRA).
- Proven track record of managing complex safety programs and leading high-performing teams to achieve zero-harm objectives.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and translate it into clear, impactful safety strategies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
