Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs aligned with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, Cal/OSHA).
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement effective preventive measures.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies to ensure full compliance with environmental and health standards, managing all reporting requirements.
- Lead and deliver safety training programs and workshops for employees at all levels to enhance safety awareness.
- Manage incident response protocols and oversee emergency preparedness plans to minimize downtime and risk.
- Drive sustainability initiatives and waste reduction strategies within the facility to meet corporate environmental goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CPEA (Certified Professional Environmental Auditor), or CUSP (Certified US Safety Professional) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in EHS management within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Deep understanding of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and California-specific environmental laws.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and safety data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence change across the organization.
- Proficiency in EHS management software (e.g., SAP, IBM TRIRIGA) and Microsoft Office Suite.
