Responsibilities
- Policy Development & Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with OSHA, Cal-OSHA, and EPA regulations.
- Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement effective control measures.
- Incident Investigation: Lead the investigation of workplace incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Training & Education: Design and deliver engaging safety training sessions and workshops for employees at all levels to ensure awareness and compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor changes in environmental legislation and ensure the organization remains compliant with all reporting requirements and audits.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Oversee sustainability projects, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and green building practices.
- Reporting: Prepare accurate EHS reports for management, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- Experience: 5-7+ years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety management within a corporate or industrial setting.
- Certifications: Professional certification such as CIH, CSP, ARM, or NEBOSH is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in EHS management software and data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, EHS-specific platforms).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and train diverse audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects effectively.
