Responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive EHS management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) to ensure 100% regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
- Lead strategic hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA) across multi-site industrial operations to proactively mitigate workplace dangers.
- Champion the organization's sustainability initiatives, focusing on carbon footprint reduction, energy efficiency, and advanced waste management protocols.
- Oversee rigorous incident investigation protocols, utilizing root cause analysis (RCA) and TapRooT methodologies to prevent recurrence.
- Act as the primary liaison with federal and state agencies, including OSHA, EPA, and TCEQ, ensuring seamless reporting and auditing.
- Cultivate a proactive safety culture through executive-level reporting, mentorship of junior specialists, and frontline engagement programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering (Master’s degree highly preferred).
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive EHS leadership experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
- Professional certification required: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
- Expert-level knowledge of OSHA 1910 standards, EPA environmental regulations, and local Texas safety statutes.
- Proven track record of reducing Total Recordable Incident Rates (TRIR) through behavioral-based safety (BBS) programs.
- Exceptional leadership capabilities with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive change at all organizational levels.
