Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ) and company standards.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, hazard analyses, and incident investigations to identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead and mentor a team of EHS professionals, fostering continuous improvement and a strong safety culture through engaging training and development initiatives.
- Oversee all environmental compliance activities, including permitting, reporting, waste management, air emissions, and water quality programs.
- Perform regular EHS audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections and inquiries, effectively managing communication and demonstrating compliance.
- Track, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics, developing strategies to achieve continuous improvement goals and reduce incidents.
- Drive the integration of EHS considerations into all business processes, from project planning to operational execution, fostering a proactive approach to risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health & Safety management, preferably within industrial, manufacturing, or chemical sectors.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification highly preferred.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state (e.g., TCEQ), and local EHS regulations and standards.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Excellent analytical skills for data interpretation, risk assessment, and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in EHS software and reporting tools, along with strong general computer skills (MS Office Suite).
