Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive EHS strategic plans that align with corporate sustainability goals and local regulatory requirements.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of safety coordinators and environmental specialists to ensure operational excellence.
- Conduct rigorous site-wide audits and risk assessments to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Oversee all EPA and OSHA reporting, ensuring 100% compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Design and implement world-class safety training programs that drive high engagement and measurable behavioral change.
- Manage the incident investigation process using root-cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence and improve safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate EHS considerations into the design and lifecycle of new projects.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to the Board of Directors, identifying trends and areas for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related engineering field; Master's preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive EHS leadership experience, ideally within the energy, manufacturing, or chemical sectors.
- Professional certification required: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
- Deep expertise in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and implementation.
- Proven track record of reducing Total Recordable Incident Rates (TRIR) and driving a 'Zero Harm' culture.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced proficiency in EHS management software and data analytics tools.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million dollar departmental budgets.
