Responsibilities
- Design and oversee electrical power systems including medium and high voltage distribution networks.
- Perform comprehensive power system studies including load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination.
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, and NESC standards.
- Review and approve detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight on complex site integration tasks.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate electrical equipment performance for procurement.
- Conduct site inspections and troubleshoot complex electrical malfunctions during construction phases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in electrical power systems design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas or eligibility for reciprocity.
- Expertise in ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or similar electrical analysis software.
- Deep understanding of renewable energy interconnection standards and grid code requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects within strict budgetary and timeline constraints.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with stakeholders and clients.
