Responsibilities
- Lead Design & Architecture: Oversee the conceptual design and detailed engineering of electrical power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
- Project Management: Manage project lifecycles from initial client consultation and site surveys through to final commissioning and handover.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all designs strictly adhere to national and international codes, including NFPA 70E, NEC, and IEEE standards.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Technical Analysis: Conduct load flow studies, short-circuit analyses, and arc flash hazard assessments to optimize system reliability.
- Vendor Coordination: Select and manage vendors for equipment procurement, ensuring quality control and timely delivery.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE/MSEE) required. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in electrical power systems engineering, preferably in the utility or industrial sectors.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or Siemens PSS/E.
- Core Knowledge: Deep understanding of AC/DC power systems, switchgear, transformers, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of troubleshooting complex engineering challenges.
