Responsibilities
- System Design: Lead the end-to-end design of electrical distribution systems, including medium and low voltage power systems, lighting layouts, and backup power solutions.
- Project Management: Oversee project milestones, manage budgets, and coordinate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, civil, software) to ensure seamless integration.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs and installations adhere to local, state, and national electrical codes (NEC) and safety regulations.
- Technical Analysis: Conduct load flow analysis, short circuit studies, and arc flash hazard assessments to optimize system reliability and safety.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed technical specifications, one-line diagrams, and engineering calculations for client review and permitting.
- Client Relations: Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, presenting complex engineering concepts in clear, understandable terms.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Master’s degree (MSEE) from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the industrial or commercial sector.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or equivalent simulation software.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and renewable energy integration (solar/wind).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical data to stakeholders at all levels.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide innovative, cost-effective solutions.
