In this role, you will oversee the design, development, and testing of electrical infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex electrical power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Perform detailed electrical load calculations, short-circuit studies, and arc flash hazard analyses.
- Collaborate with project managers and mechanical engineers to integrate electrical systems into broader industrial projects.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance during the product lifecycle.
- Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and national codes such as NFPA 70E and NEC.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in power systems engineering, preferably in the utility or industrial sector.
- Proficiency in using CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of power electronics, control systems, and protection schemes.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a significant plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
