Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test complex electrical power distribution systems for utility-scale applications.
- Lead cross-functional design reviews to ensure compliance with safety standards and technical specifications.
- Perform advanced circuit simulation and thermal analysis using industry-standard software (ETAP, PSCAD, or MATLAB).
- Develop innovative firmware solutions for grid-tied power electronics and energy storage controllers.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in hardware development and documentation.
- Oversee prototype build-outs and conduct rigorous validation testing in laboratory and field settings.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to transition designs from R&D to mass production.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience in power systems, power electronics, or hardware design.
- Demonstrated expertise in PCB design, schematic capture, and layout (Altium Designer preferred).
- Strong understanding of NEC, IEEE, and UL compliance standards for power equipment.
- Experience with high-voltage testing environments and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or C++ for automated testing and data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
